About Us

The Palestinian Canadian Congress is a national, non-partisan voice for Palestinian Canadians — advancing Palestinian identity, defending rights, and holding Canadian institutions accountable. Our mandate reaches Palestinians in Canada, in exile, and across Historic Palestine, and we pursue it entirely through Canadian advocacy.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Communications Officer to lead and execute strategic communications efforts that elevate our profile, engage the public, and support our advocacy and fundraising initiatives.

This role will be crucial to shaping the organization’s public narrative and ensuring consistent, values-driven messaging across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications

  • Create and implement an annual communications plan aligned with organizational goals.
  • Support campaign launches with strategic messaging and outreach strategies.
  • Develop key talking points and narratives to represent the organization’s stance and values.

Content Creation & Digital Presence

  • Oversee and produce content for social media platforms, website, newsletters, and reports.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, content creators, and translators as needed.
  • Ensure all content is consistent, inclusive, and aligned with anti-racist messaging.

Internal Communications

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment across campaigns, events, and updates.
  • Support communication flows within members, donors and volunteer teams.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the Palestinian identity, heritage and rights.
  • Strong knowledge of anti-racism frameworks and advocacy work.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Comfort with crisis communication and managing public narratives.
  • Experience with digital tools (Canva, Action Network, Trello, Hootsuite, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Experience working in non-profits, advocacy, or social justice sectors.
  • Arabic language proficiency (asset, not required).
  • Knowledge of legal, academic, or policy discourse around Palestine is a plus.
